FAQ
Are Enforma hiking socks suitable for both summer and winter?
Yes, thanks to the use of merino wool, silk or Coolmax, the socks have natural or synthetic thermoregulation properties. This keeps your feet cool in summer and warm in winter.
What is the difference between merino wool and synthetic material in socks?
Merino wool is a natural material that is soft on the skin, breathes well and provides excellent insulation. Synthetic materials such as Coolmax and polypropylene dry faster and are often more durable with heavy use. Some models combine both for optimal performance.
Are the socks suitable for people with sensitive skin or allergies?
Yes, models with merino wool and silk are hypoallergenic and suitable for people with sensitive skin or allergies to synthetic fabrics.
How do I choose the right size hiking socks?
Use your shoe size as a starting point and possibly measure your calf circumference if compression is important. Note that hiking socks should fit snugly, without pinching.
Can I wash the socks in the washing machine?
Yes, but it is recommended to use mild detergents, wash dark colors separately, and turn socks inside out. Not suitable for the dryer or ironing at high temperature.
Are the socks antibacterial or odor resistant?
Yes, many models contain copper yarn or are treated with silver or copper ions (such as COPPTECH or NYLCARE) that prevent 99.9% of bacteria and mildew, preventing unpleasant odors.
Can you use these socks for sports other than hiking or trekking?
Sure! The socks are also great for mountaineering, trail running, outdoor training and even daily use in low temperatures.
Are there different versions for left and right?
Yes, many models are anatomically shaped and have a left and right sock for optimal fit, support and comfort.
